Having contacted us on your own or being referred by your Dentist for Orthodontic treatment, private patients are given the option of two types of consultation:-

  • Primary consultation £80
  • Extensive consultation £180

The primary consultation is a 30 minute appointment which will determine your orthodontic needs, advise you on any treatment needed and give you an approximate idea of costs. This option is taken when patients need more time and information to evaluate whether orthodontics is for them. If they do decide to proceed, a further examination is required to collate complete records of the teeth to individualise a treatment plan. This appointment costs £ 100.

The Extensive Consultation is a 45 minute appointment where complete records of your teeth will be taken including casts, x-rays and photographs. Once the records have been assessed, a treatment plan is compiled and the report sent to you along with treatment options and financial arrangements. Depending on your diagnosis, as a private patient you may wish to consider Invisalign, Damon or lingual braces. Our treatment coordinator will discuss the various options with you.

Treatment
Your braces will then be designed and fitted. Over the treatment time the braces will be regularly adjusted to gradually move the teeth into the correct positions.

Retention
When your braces are removed you will need to wear retainers. Fixed retainers, consisting of a thin wire placed on the back of teeth, are advised. Retention is a vital part of treatment, as they keep the new positions of your teeth.

Emergencies
If you have any breakages or problems, please contact us for help or to arrange an emergency appointment.

When booking emergency appointments, we have to fit patients in where appointments are available.

Finances
Examination costs are payable at the examination appointment. Payment can be made by cheque, cash, debit card or credit card. The cost of orthodontic treatment can vary from £300-£6000 depending on treatment needs. Aesthetic options such as Invisalign and lingual braces are towards the more expensive end of the above range. The cost is divided into an initial deposit of approximately 15% of the total fee and the balance is paid by monthly standing order over either 12 or 24 months. We also provide an option of 5% discount if the fee is paid for in full prior to starting treatment.
